BCCC 2010 Round 6: Walter's Arena

Round 6 of the BCCC was at very wet Walter's Arena, Macleod came out of the blocks strong and by the end of lap 2 was in 4th position. Lap 3 and 4 saw him caught behind other competitors and then disaster struck on lap 4 with a puncture that led to a rear wheel disintegrating and finally the rear suspension collapsing, putting him out of the racing for Saturday. Sunday saw bright sunshine and car number 7 again went off well, clawing back valuable time, but then the last run of the day saw another puncture and he pulled off the stage. Macleod said afterwards “I was bitterly disappointed with the maximums on Saturday, I tried to nurse the car around, but after about 4 miles, it had had enough. Of some consolation is the times that I put in when all was going well, so I am looking forward to coming back next year and putting in some good performances.”

BCCC 2010 Round 5: Sweet Lamb

Sweet Lamb hosted Round 5 of the 2010 BCCC and the venue threw every type of weather for the competitors. The weekend did not start well for Macleod with a roll on the second run of the event just meters from the start but thanks to a little help he was soon back on the wheels, only losing three minutes. He continued displaying consistent times, with rain creating new challenges. The first run of Sunday morning saw a new problem as a rear suspension bolt broke leaving the rear wheel pointing in the wrong direction and ripping the tyre off the rim. Despite the roll and suspension problem Macleod came home in 9th place overall and took a class win.

BCCC 2010 Round 4: Radnor

Macleod came in after a hard fought two days with a credible class win and fifth place overall. He commented “We had a great weekend, with the minimum of mechanical problems, we lost a rear quarter on Saturday, but this was largely just cosmetic. The car was well prepared and suited to the track, many thanks to the hard work from the Maxtraction team!”

BCCC 2010 Round 3: Forrest Lodge

"A number of problems challenged us, firstly a maximum with a broken wishbone tie bolt, then another bolt broke in the same wishbone on the next round, then a bent disc hampered braking. The team worked very hard to get us out for each run despite a good amount of fabricating needing to be done!!   But towards the end of  Sunday we finished with very strong times, so I am very encouraged."

BCCC 2010 Round 2: Esgair-y-Maen

BCCC 2010 Round 1: Ashby de la Zouch

The new Maxtraction Milner R5 debuted very well. The box fresh car with M3 engine and manual gearbox performed faultlessly. Macleod said "We have a little work to do on the brakes for round two, but we are extremely pleased with the car, not least because it was only delivered on Friday!"

Macleod continued "Maxtraction have worked hard with Milner in order to produce this new clubman type car, with the combination of almost standard drive train and no frils build, this should be a great car for the BCCC."
