Driver Profile: Dean Sutcliffe

Dean, nicknamed R2, competes in a Bowler Tomcat powered by a mid-mounted 3.5 litre fuel injected engine. He has been involved in off-road competition since 1985 and in 2010 his aim is to finish all the B.C.C.C. rounds in as good a position as possible.

Dean lives in Norfolk and is employed as a Senior Construction Manager with the AMEC Group and his racing is supported by AMEC, CP Construction, Pace Installations, Be Safe Be Wired Ltd and SJ Autos of Withernsea. Dean's co-driver is Robert Taylor who is a Director of Be Safe Be Wired Ltd and has been competing in off-road racing since 2005.

Dean also has a "team behind the scenes" which he'd like to thank:

- Martin Dean and Ronny Hoyle help with spannering
- Ray Cole who keeps on painting the car every time it gets a scratch or a bit of panel damage.
- Julian and Ann at JR Fabrications for many a missed appointment and for their GRP skills and fabrication (07811 355901).
- JFS Land Rovers Norwich (01603 787064), Hunters Land Rovers (01603 780230) and Brook Wells Land Rovers (0800 521786) for parts supply.
- Chris at RPI Norwich for his help and advice (01603 891209).
- Gareth Jones at Jones Bros Civil Engineering (South Wales) for their help and advice this year (07971 222836).
- Be Safe Be Wired for wiring the car and keeping it going (07810 752430).
- Alan at Pace Installations all sealant requirements (07773 041361).
- SJ AUTOS Withernsea (Hull) all car and 4 X 4 repairs and MoTs, Simon and Tracy on 07760 370910.
- Race Truck recovery 01488 657650.

And to all the spouses who let the madness go on.
