Bumpy drives a Bowler Wildcat 100. It has a Rover 4.8 V8 engine from Rowland at ACR with Omex mappable injection, an R380 gearbox and locker in the rear axle.
He finished 8th in the Scottish Hill Rally in both 2007 and 2008 and was 4th overall in the 2007 Hill Rally championship. He also finished 4th in the 2007 Baja National. For 2010 he's aiming to compete in all the rounds without too much damage and having plenty of laughs along the way. Bumpy does not have any sponsors but he his helped out by good friend and fellow competitor "Tomcat Tony" who eagerly and relentessly puts his car back together, Lofthouse Motor Services who do his mechanical work, Rowland Marlow at ACR for engine work, Julian Robinson at JR Fabrications and Paul at Tomcat for fibreglass panels at short notice.
Bumpy lives in Warrington and his job is Ship Director for Cammell Laird shipyard in Birkenhead. He can do any B.C.C.C. marshals a special deal on any vessel in the 30,000 to 75,000 tonne range for routine drydock and maintenance repairs, please see him at the next event for details!
